Hemroid Treatment

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

There are many options when seeking hemroid treatment, we’ll take a look at the most commonly effective ones here.

DIETARY CHANGES

  • It’s important to include extra fiber in your diet and to drink plenty of water every day. This will prevent constipation. Constipation causes strain on your bowel muscles, which will make hemroids worse.
  • There are foods that tend to worsen hemroid symptoms. The most common are nuts, coffee, all alcohols and spicy foods. If you notice another type of food making your hemroids worse, try abstaining for a few days and see if there is a positive effect.

BEHAVIORIAL CHANGES

  • Use ice on the area for 10 minutes, then follow with a warm, moist towel for 20 minutes to provide relief.
  • Don’t wipe or rub after a bowel movement! Instead, use unscented baby wipes to carefully pat down the area.
  • Keep sitting or standing in one place to a minimum. Move around.
  • If you have a particularly bad flare up of the piles, bed rest will take pressure off the sphincter muscles and allow the hemroids to time to subdue.
  • Some find relief by taking a sitz bath several times a day. You just soak the area in warm water for about 15 minutes.
  • If you use soaps or body wash that contain dyes and perfumes, switch to less chemical versions.
  • Cotton undergarments will help absorb any moisture (perhaps from sweating) that can make hemroids worse.

MEDICATIONS

  • Zinc is a skin protectant (it’s found in baby diaper rash cream) that can be applied to both protect the delicate anal skin and to prevent itching.
  • Suppositories, such as Tucks and Preparation H are a hemroid treatment to be taken with extreme caution. They can cause damage to anal tissue with longer term use, and therefor should not be used for more then 7-10 days.
  • At your drugstore you’ll also find hydrocortisone creams. These are anti-inflamitories and can help both inflammation and itching. Your doctor can prescribe a higher concentration if the over the counter strengths don’t provide relief.
  • Most drugstores also offer numbing sprays that will help with the pain.

Unfortunately, these treatments don’t work for everyone. Many still suffer from the itching, burning, bleeding and pain of hemroids after trying traditional treatments. Even if the treatments above cover up symptoms, or temporarily relieve them, you’ll often find the hemroids come back. Rather then masking the symptoms, a true hemroid treatment is available. The ancient Chinese “Fargei” actually cured Holly Hayden’s hemroids in just 48 hours. Her article is a must-read for more information on effective hemroid treatment that works NOW.

Hemroid Symptoms

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

If you suspect you may have hemroids, check the following hemroids symptoms to see if any match up with your own issues.

INTERNAL HEMROID SYMPTOMS

  • Fresh, brilliant red blood on your bowel movements, toilet or toilet paper
  • Feeling oddly full after passing stool
  • Uncomfortableness in the anal area
  • Internal hemroids are usually not painful

EXTERNAL HEMROID SYMPTOMS

  • Anal pain
  • Itching
  • Bleeding
  • A hard, purple lump around the anus

You’ll want to check with your doctor to ensure that the hemroid symptoms you are experiencing are in fact indicative of hemroids.  Hemroids can sometimes be confused with other conditions, like a perirectal absess or anal fissure.

Check the hemroid treatment page for information on how to immediately find relief for your hemroids symptoms, and then head to the H Miracle to learn how to cure your hemroids once and for all.

What is a Hemroid?

What is a hemroid?

A hemroid is simply swollen and/or inflamed veins around the anal area.  There are two sets of veins in the area, internal and external hemroid veins.  Internal hemroids are inflammation of the internal hemorrhiodal veins, and external hemroids are inflammation of the external hemroidal veins.  Both internal and external hemroids are cause by pressure to their corresponding veins.

You can end your hemroids by following the hemroid treatment methods described on this page.

Hemmoroid Treatment

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Seeking hemmoroid treatment?  You’ll want to note that most hemmoroid treatment plans actually just mask the symptoms, rather then preventing hemmoroids from recurring.

That being said, there are several steps you can take to prevent the worsening of your existing hemmoroids.

You’ll want to change your diet to exclude coffee, spicy foods, nuts or any other food that you notice makes your hemmoroids worse.  Make sure you’re drinking the standard 8 glasses of water each day as well, as being well hydrated helps keep your bowel movements flowing.

For effective hemmoroid treatment you’ll also need to change some of your bathroom behaviors.  This means not wiping your anal area too hard, and instead patting it clean gently (perhaps with baby wipes).  Never, ever push hard; if a bowel movement isn’t ready to come out, you’ll only exacerbate your hemroids with the straining of your muscles.

When you have a particularly painful episode of hemmoroids, you can treat the symptoms with warm compresses, ice packs, sitz baths, topical hemmoroid creams and numbing sprays.

If your hemmoroids don’t respond to these over the counter rememdies, a more serious treatment measure may be necessary.  Of course, even if you opt for surgical removal of your most painful hemmoroids, new hemmoroids can appear afterwards - and then you’re right back where you started from.  What’s most important is treating the cause of your hemroids and eliminating them. Some tips on doing so can be found here.

How to Cure Hemroids

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

To find out how to cure hemroids once and for all, you have to get to the root of the problem.

Most hemroid treatments simply mask the inner cause, and as such, you’ll never actually cure your hemroids but will simply cover up the painful symptoms.  While this can provide some measure of relief, if you want your hemroids to end now, you’ll have to learn how to cure hemroids once and for all.

Surgical methods of curing hemroids will remove the offending piles, but you can have a recurrence of new hemroids.  For this reason, surgical methods will provide relief, but if you are prone to hemroids, you’ll still need to take additioanl measures to actually cure your hemroids.

To learn about how to cure hemroids for good, visit Holly Hayden’s site.  Aside from the standard “preventative” advice (don’t push too hard when eliminating, avoiding spicy foods, pat gently instead of wiping and rubbing the anal area) you’ll find several other techniques that will help you learn how to cure hemroids and be rid of the pain, embarrassment and bleeding for ever.

Can You Use Diaper Rash Ointment on Hemroids?

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Can you use diaper rash ointment on hemroids?  You can.

You’ll want to look for a diaper rash ointment that contains zinc oxide (most do).  It’s the zinc oxide that helps soothe your enflamed hemroids.

The problem with diaper rash cream as a hemroid treatment, though, is that it just covers up the problem.  It doesn’t get to the root of your hemroid - why they are occurring, and how to cure your hemroids for good.

Of course, if immediate relief is all you’re after, diaper rash ointment is an option for your hemroid treatment regimin.

But in the long run, you’ll be better off actually curing your hemroids so you never have to treat them again.
