Anal Fissures-What to Do After All Has Been Done?
After I had my son 5 and a half months ago, I got anal fissures and internal hemroids. I have been to 4 doctors and the hemroids have been healed but they can’t fix my fissures. The last doctor I went to told me that I was too young for the surgery or cutting the muscle down there. I have used all the prescription medicines and live in the bath tub. Has anyone heard anything NEW other then drinking gallons of water a day?
The pain is awful. While going to the restroom I fill the toilet with blood and after I can’t sit for 6 hours!
I’d suggest going to see a different doctor. No reason not to get a second opinion. I’d start eating lots of fiber and perhaps using stool softeners or laxatives so your fissures can heal. I’d just start downing veggies all day, cut down on carbs and large amounts of animal protein. I think if you can stay on the softeners for a month as well as eating lots more fiber, you could have a chance to heal them… I’d still go get another opinion… can’t hurt anyway. Good luck… I hope you start feeling better soon!

If you have a chronic anal fissure, you may have an anal yeast infection.
I had a painful anal fissure for three years. I went to see doctors, too. They instructed me to eat more fiber and not to “strain” during bowel movements.
I cut out most animal protein from my diet and started to eat a lot of rice and lentils. The fissure improved a little bit, but did not heal. If I ate a large meal, the fissure would open up again and I would bleed again.
One day, I came upon this article about Dr. Kellogg (you know, the inventor of corn flakes) and I found this passage that mentioned “Yogurt enemas”…I bought a FLEET enema kit from the drug store. Rather than fill it with water, I filled it with plain, non-fat yogurt and followed directions.
I did this once a day, for about a week…and the anal fissure healed.
I stayed on my rice-lentil-vegetable diet for another month, and continued to give myself a yogurt enema every three or four days. It was a miraculous recovery. All the blood and pain disappeared during my bowel movements.
I’ve even been able to eat an occasional hamburger, and I haven’t had problems with bleeding or pain.
Why NOT EVEN ONE doctor suggested this to me is puzzling. I can only assume that they make more money by selling hemorrhoid management creams than by curing the hemorrhoids in the first place.
