I was also frustrated with the cheap witch-hazel pads because although they only reduce swelling, they do nothing for the pain, the itch and to support healing. So, just FYI, I found a product that does it all and it is really great. A good find… and worth a try. I’m not usually one to be talking about products for “down-under”, but these are really good. I got them from a company called Nature’s Rite and they say “Hemorrhoid Relief” on the label. There are lots of good herbs in there, not sure what they all do, but these pads really helped me a lot.

Rarely hemorrhoids vanish naturally. Treating the cause of hemorrhoids is however important to get permanently rid of them.

Hemorrhoids are mainly caused by pressure put on the veins in the rectal area. This might be due to constipation, pregnancy (also after pregnancy they don’t just disappear), sitting/standing for extended periods of time, overweight and overeating. Also some other diseases and conditions are causing or contributing to development of hemorrhoids, like IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), fatigue liver, Vitamin B6 deficiency, genetic predisposition to weak veins, acid/alkaline imbalance.

Hemorrhoids can and will heal if the strain causing them is removed.

Supplement your diet with extra high fiber foods and/or take a fiber supplement such as Metamucil or Citrucel. Don’t strain when you have a bowel movement – this can make it worse.

If you have a minor hemorrhoid problem, it may heal over the course of a couple weeks. If this is a problem that has been going on for some time, it could take much longer to heal or require medical treatment.

Also, do not use any ointments with hydrocortisone in it, such as Preparation H. After regular and prolonged use, these ointments can weaken the tissue down there so that hemorrhoids are more likely to occur. Ointments with phenylephrine are OK to use regularly.

Sorry to disappoint you but once there always there….not always major bothersome tho…if they are very distressful for you see your doctor..he can remove them forever.

it depends. if its big already or if it is bleeding, you need surgery. if not eat foods high in fiber!
