Thursday, April 30th, 2009

I went to the bathroom(just to pee) but noticed quite a bit of bright red blood in the toilet. when I checked it was coming from the back. could it just be hemroids and if so how would I know?

it could be hemroids. go see your doctor. rectal bleeding could be dangerous if not treated.

have painless bleeding?

Well, sure, but hemroids are usually painful. I would get any rectal bleeding checked out. Bright red blood usually is indicative of hemroids or fissures; dark red is from the upper GI tract, which is something to worry about for sure. Anyway, I would certainly consult a doctor. And by the way, sooner or later, just about everyone is going to experience hemroids. They are varicose veins caused from pressure or straining at stool. People who sit a lot get them; conversely, people who stand a lot get them. Pregnant people get them.

I think that I might have hemroids?

For like the last 6 months I have rectal bleeding during bowl movements, sometimes there wasn't hardly any blood at all, and sometimes there was a lot, I haven't gone to the doctor because I know that my mom has had them and they just prescribed her medication, however I don't hurt anywhere, no discomfort or any kind. Sometimes if my stools are hard they have blood on them as well, I just don't understand why it's happening, I know my mom was in a lot of pain and discomfort from them, and I don't, thats why I haven't go\ne to the doctor, I don't have the money to and if it's nothing serious I don't want to waste my time or money… someone please help me thanks!

Bloody stool without the appearance of hemroids is not a good sign. If you're experiencing regular bleeding, you should see a doctor as soon as possible.

Doing a quick WebMD search, using their Symptom Checker and bloody stool being the only symptom, I came up with these possible conditions besides hemroids: Crohn's Disease, Proctitis, Ulcerative Colititis, Colon Cancer, Pre-Leukemia Disorder, and plenty of other terrible things. You NEED to see a doctor.

i have an anal fissure and have always had problems with hemroids. can a colonoscopy help either one?

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

i have been deling with th e fissure for almost 4 months now. its better - but very slow healing. i am still bleeding a little a few times a week when i have a bowel movement. it still hurts but it is finally bareable. i have problems with my hemrhoids also. i have never had to have a procedure before this. i am a 30 year old female. these problems run i my family though. i exercise regularly and always have a high fiber intake - not sure how this happened. but i have been very miserable. i have never hurt like this. i know i can't let it go on and on but i am very scared. the first doctor that just examined me almost killed me. it is so embarrassing. i just want to be better and i hope the colonoscopy will help me get back to normal. please someone let me know as much as possible. i haven't been to the gym in 2 months. i am so scared that will set me back in healing. anybody out there no anything about this situation. the more i know the better i feel. please write!
my appointment is with a specialist for the colonoscopy. the family practicioner was who i saw to diagnose me in the beginning - thats the only person i have seen. he has reccommended me seeing someone else since it has not healed yet with the medication he gave me.what is a proctologist? don't i need to see a gastro person? break these medical terms down for me please - i am trying to figure all this out for the first time. thank you!!!
the doctor doing the colonscopy said he would need to do that first to see if he could treat or fix it. if not - then he would refer me and schedule surgery.

The colonoscopy is not a treatment, but a diagnostic tool, so it's not going to fix what you have.
You need to be goingto a proctologist, not just a general practitioner.

I been having issues using the bathroom. It's discomfort only when I have constipation, other than that it;s find. Also it is only on the right side, I am find when walking or anything else. I don't visually see anything wrond or different. I just want to know why this is so uncomfortable. There has been no bleeding just discomfort. Does anyone know what it is?

It could be a hemroid or a small tear, use a little lubricant ( Vaseline) if it persists check with your doc.

I have had hemroids in varying degrees over 20 years, Now, they bleed each time, not always bright red,?

now pink. They don't go back in. I hope a medical person answers this.

There are 4 degrees of hemroids you reach the fourth

Tell your mom and go to a doctor. If the bump is that big, they might prescribe a medicine.Ive seen a commercial like that.

hemroids??

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

im 18 weeks pregnant and i had a constipation problem in the beginning . since i was 12 weeks, ive been taking benefiber and that helps… i occasionally have constipation and then bleed. but only during those constipation days..b4 when i was 12 weeks, i went to the GI and she said it was most likely hemroids. and to try to get rid of the constipation. im just wondering if im bleeding from the constipation and hemriods or if it sounds like something else. i was constipated yesterday and bled alittle and then today i was pushing to pas gas and i bled..but this morning when i went to the bathroom i didnt bleed. i also think i got a fissure from pushing yesterday.. anyone have any thoughts? am i just being paranoid??

girl, i feel your pain. i'm almost 14 weeks and was terribly constipated and had awful hemroids–my mom made emergency runs (no pun intended) to grab grape juice, benefiber, enemas, vaseline, stool softeners, a laxative, and preperation H–I swear by that stuff- not to be gross but you can get the tube that has the inter-anal inserter that actually squirts a bit of the medicine into the anus–you need to rub a bit on the outside and clean everything super-well afterwards, but the relief is awesome. ice works too. you might be taking the wrong prenatal too–ask ur doc to get you a prescription for a prenatal with a stool softerner in it like prima care one. i'm 100% regular now–just don't miss a day with the benefiber and make yourself go poo everyday or you will regret it. i really hope that helps!!

Bleeding Hemorrhoids during pregnancy?

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Im 31 weeks pregnant and i have constipation so i go to the washroom every 3 days or so and when i do i see blood when i wipe. i think i have internal hemroids but i had constipation for like 3 to 4 weeks now so im woried i had this internal hemriod problem for a long time so who knows how long ive been bleeding inside basicly im wondering if its too late to get regular treatment or do i now need surgury???

I have had some bleeding caused by internal hemroids…It sucks to be constipated! I would talk to your doctor. He can provide a solution for the constipation which will help you out ALOT! Until then, try to increase your fiber intake and water intake.. That should help too.
