It does sound probably like haemorrhoids but I think you'll have to go to the doctor or at least talk to your mother. If she went to the doctor for it then I think you should do to. As it's been going on so long and you're not dead yet, it might not be anything to worry about, but it could equally be a symptom of cancer and other horrible things, so I think you should see the doc, sorry.

The last responder was right. Bloody stools or just bleeding from the rectum is not something you want to ignore. You could have internal hemorrhoids, but it could be something much more serious. Go to the local health dept. if you don't have insurance, or enough cash.

Bloody stool without the appearance of hemorrhoids is not a good sign. If you're experiencing regular bleeding, you should see a doctor as soon as possible. Doing a quick WebMD search, using their Symptom Checker and bloody stool being the only symptom, I came up with these possible conditions besides hemorrhoids: Crohn's Disease, Proctitis, Ulcerative Colititis, Colon Cancer, Pre-Leukemia Disorder, and plenty of other terrible things. You NEED to see a doctor.
