Beats the heck out of me. One doctor said it was no big deal. Another doctor said lose some weight (still had them). Another doctor said, "You are bleeding where!?! You are getting a colonscope immediately."–the verdict? Hemorrhoids.
I've heard preparation H, but everyone I know who uses it has to use it all the time, which doesn't exactly prove to me that it works. I've heard there are surgeries. The ones that just had them shaved off told horrible tales (They pull the anus out like folding over an eyelid, then shave the polyps and turn things back inside). In one type they somehow "microwave" the growth and it dies and drops off. And in another they use rubber bands to choke it off–which is a hoot to me because one doctor told me that I only have to worry if they "become strangulated".

I have constipation predominant IBS with occ. bouts of loose stools but mostly hard painful ones. Recently, the straining for the (lack) of bowel movement seems to have created an internal hemorrrhoid that pokes out during bowel movements and is causing a good deal of pressure and pain. I happen to be in an incredibly difficult time at work right now making taking off for a doctor's appointment a last choice, although i could go to an urgent care after hours if i thought it would be best, and meant that I didn't have to miss work tomorrow. What should I do? I'm on a very high fiber diet that includes both soluble and insoluble fiber and its done nothing, so please don't start with the "more fiber" comments.
I have been there. When I am having loose stools its not a big deal, the only problem is knowing when one dares to go out. On the other hand constipation is hellish. It can be there and one feels desperate to "go", the piles drop and there is no space left to even pass wind (I do hope that no one else is reading this).
I never dare take laxatives because this can lead to uncontrollable bowel movements, however large dozes of vitamin C do help. Start off with one gram and if this does not do the trick increase the doze. I have also found that "Milk Thistle" drops help. Of late I have also used a stool softener "Dulco Ease". Then if all else fails try a DIY enema there is one called "Fleet" which I use when I am absolutely desperate. My doctor sugested this when I had a bowel impaction.

I am a little over 14 weeks pregnant. Today when I went to the restroom and had a bowel movement there was a little blood on the tissue and now my anus kinda hurts. Could this just be hemorrhoids?
It could be.yes.. if it’s really giving you trouble or if it bleeds a lot have your doc look at it. You can use Preparation H or Anusol HC safely…as well as Tucks which has witch hazel in it. THese are on my doctor’s lists of safe medicines you can take while pregnant.

I know this may be gross but I need help. I am 8 months pregnant and noticed I had hemroids on Friday. At first they hurt like hell but the pain got better within about 3 days. Well I have been bleeding since Sunday night. I used Tucks, and PH. Also I called the doctor and they subscribed some foam type of medication that numbs the area. My question is, how long might the bleeding last and how do I get them to stop bleeding? I have a dr app on fri so I dont think I should make an appointment for today. Please Help
It will last as long as you have to keep straining to go!! Talk to your doc again and see if they will recommend a stool softener that is what I did and it eventually healed..

Both. to me the internal ones are worse, but both are painful.
