Can You Use Diaper Rash Ointment on Hemroids?

By admin

Can you use diaper rash ointment on hemroids?  You can.

You’ll want to look for a diaper rash ointment that contains zinc oxide (most do).  It’s the zinc oxide that helps soothe your enflamed hemroids.

The problem with diaper rash cream as a hemroid treatment, though, is that it just covers up the problem.  It doesn’t get to the root of your hemroid – why they are occurring, and how to cure your hemroids for good.

Of course, if immediate relief is all you’re after, diaper rash ointment is an option for your hemroid treatment regimin.

But in the long run, you’ll be better off actually curing your hemroids so you never have to treat them again.

Hemroid Treatment

By admin

There are many options when seeking hemroid treatment, we’ll take a look at the most commonly effective ones here.

DIETARY CHANGES

  • It’s important to include extra fiber in your diet and to drink plenty of water every day. This will prevent constipation. Constipation causes strain on your bowel muscles, which will make hemroids worse.
  • There are foods that tend to worsen hemroid symptoms. The most common are nuts, coffee, all alcohols and spicy foods. If you notice another type of food making your hemroids worse, try abstaining for a few days and see if there is a positive effect.

BEHAVIORIAL CHANGES

  • Use ice on the area for 10 minutes, then follow with a warm, moist towel for 20 minutes to provide relief.
  • Don’t wipe or rub after a bowel movement! Instead, use unscented baby wipes to carefully pat down the area.
  • Keep sitting or standing in one place to a minimum. Move around.
  • If you have a particularly bad flare up of the piles, bed rest will take pressure off the sphincter muscles and allow the hemroids to time to subdue.
  • Some find relief by taking a sitz bath several times a day. You just soak the area in warm water for about 15 minutes.
  • If you use soaps or body wash that contain dyes and perfumes, switch to less chemical versions.
  • Cotton undergarments will help absorb any moisture (perhaps from sweating) that can make hemroids worse.

MEDICATIONS

  • Zinc is a skin protectant (it’s found in baby diaper rash cream) that can be applied to both protect the delicate anal skin and to prevent itching.
  • Suppositories, such as Tucks and Preparation H are a hemroid treatment to be taken with extreme caution. They can cause damage to anal tissue with longer term use, and therefor should not be used for more then 7-10 days.
  • At your drugstore you’ll also find hydrocortisone creams. These are anti-inflamitories and can help both inflammation and itching. Your doctor can prescribe a higher concentration if the over the counter strengths don’t provide relief.
  • Most drugstores also offer numbing sprays that will help with the pain.

Unfortunately, these treatments don’t work for everyone. Many still suffer from the itching, burning, bleeding and pain of hemroids after trying traditional treatments. Even if the treatments above cover up symptoms, or temporarily relieve them, you’ll often find the hemroids come back. Rather then masking the symptoms, a true hemroid treatment is available. The ancient Chinese “Fargei” actually cured Holly Hayden’s hemroids in just 48 hours. Her article is a must-read for more information on curing your hemroid symptoms.

Hemroid Symptoms

By admin

If you suspect you may have hemroids, check the following hemroids symptoms to see if any match up with your own issues.

INTERNAL HEMROID SYMPTOMS

  • Fresh, brilliant red blood on your bowel movements, toilet or toilet paper
  • Feeling oddly full after passing stool
  • Uncomfortableness in the anal area
  • Internal hemroids are usually not painful

EXTERNAL HEMROID SYMPTOMS

  • Anal pain
  • Itching
  • Bleeding
  • A hard, purple lump around the anus

You’ll want to check with your doctor to ensure that the hemroid symptoms you are experiencing are in fact indicative of hemroids.  Hemroids can sometimes be confused with other conditions, like a perirectal absess or anal fissure.

Check the hemroid treatment page for information on how to immediately find relief for your hemroids symptoms.

Cure Hemroids

By admin

Is it possible to cure hemroids?  The answer is yes, but there are several methods to pick from.

The simplest ways to cure hemroids involve at home hemroid treatment.  But for many people, these dietary and behavorial changes coupled with over the counter medications just don’t do the trick.  They’re still left with painful hemroids and seek a permanent cure.

Your doctor may recommend rubber band ligation or surgical hemroid removal (such as closed hemorrhoidectomy, circular stapled hemorrhoidopexy, or thrombus removal).  The problem with these procedures is that they themselves are painful AND you can develop hemroids again.  While surgical procedures will remove your current hemroids, there’s nothing preventing you from getting more hemroids in the future.

I wanted a better answer, an end to embarrassing doctor visits, and end to surgeries, an end to the pain and blood and a real, honest to goodness way to cure hemroids so they didn’t come back.

I tried everything I could find, on the net and in books, to get rid of the piles.  I didn’t want to just treat the symptoms anymore, I didn’t want to be dependent on a medication or procedure for the rest of my life.  I wanted my hemroids GONE. There had to be a root cause of the hemroids I could use to prevent them from ever occuring again…
